О фильме: Семага - мастер по росписи матрёшек, человек «старой школы»: любит дерево, ручной труд и порядок, в котором мужчина - глава семьи. В его послужном списке - самая миниатюрная матрёшка в России. Но времена меняются, Семага теряет работу, а его жена Виолетта поднимается по карьерной лестнице. Отношения в семье напряжены, дочь-подросток считает отца скучным скуфом, и только восьмилетний сын пока сохраняет тёплые отношения с папой. После увольнения из матрёшечного цеха Семага чувствует, как окончательно теряет контроль над собственной жизнью. В отчаянной попытке вернуть уважение семьи он решает открыть маникюрный кабинет - вместе с другом-раздолбаем Антохой. Уверенный, что с ногтями сможет справиться так же легко, как с матрёшками, Семага неожиданно попадает в мир гелевых покрытий и женских разговоров. И этот новый опыт меняет его больше, чем он мог себе представить.
